Historic preservation

Historic preservation advisory committees

Borough Code Section 125-12 establishes the Bishop House Advisory Committee and the Saddle River Museum Advisory Committee under the guidance of the Landmarks Commission.

Oversees the operation of Bishop House under the guidance of the Landmarks Commission.

Oversees the operation of the Saddle River Museum under the guidance of the Landmarks Commission.

Membership and reporting.

Borough Code provides for five to seven Saddle River residents on each committee, including one Council member and one Landmarks Commission member. Members are reappointed or replaced annually, and each committee reports to the Landmarks Commission in June and December.

The Landmarks Commission reviews Certificates of Appropriateness and other historic preservation applications. Visit the Landmarks Commission page for application and meeting information.
