Bergen County runs elections in Saddle River. The County Clerk issues the ballots, the Superintendent of Elections and Commissioner of Registration keeps the voter roll, and the Board of Elections staffs the polling place, sets the early-voting sites and drop-box locations, and counts the ballots. The Borough does not decide voter eligibility, issue ballots or count them.

Never return a mail-in ballot at a polling place. If you were sent a mail-in ballot and have not returned it, you can vote in person only by paper provisional ballot.
Return a completed mail-in ballot by mail, to a Bergen County drop box, or to the Bergen County Board of Elections. Do not hand it to Borough staff.

Ballots, candidates, results and local law
Use official County and State sources for ballot content and candidate lists. Election-night results are unofficial until the responsible canvassing authority certifies them.
Candidate filing: contact the proper filing officer before circulating a petition. The Borough Clerk handles municipal Primary and County Committee petitions; the County Clerk handles local independent General Election and school-board petitions; the State handles State and federal filings. Petition forms and filing deadlines change from year to year, so ask the filing office for the current ones.
Campaign signs: review Borough Code Chapter 175 and contact the Construction Official or Building Inspector before posting a sign.
