  2. Confirm property and municipal accounts

    If you own the property, verify the tax account, mailing address, mortgage escrow status and next amount due. A missing bill does not remove the payment obligation.

  4. Find the collection route and schedule

    Check the current garbage, recycling and bulky-pickup instructions for your address before setting material out.

  6. Complete required New Jersey changeovers

    Transfer out-of-state driver and vehicle credentials within the State deadline. If you want to vote in New Jersey, register or update your voter record.

Common local rules

A few household basics worth knowing

  • No overnight street parking

    Vehicles may not be parked on any street or road within the Borough from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

  • Noise and outdoor work hours

    Unreasonable or unnecessary noise is prohibited, especially from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Landscaping and construction noise is limited to 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday.

  • Keep the street number visible

    The assigned property number must remain clearly visible from the street for responders and public services.

  • Arrange private yard-waste disposal

    The Borough does not collect leaves, brush or yard waste. Do not place it in a road, drainage system or public right-of-way.

Contact Building and Construction before scheduling structural or exterior work. Additions, pools, generators, fences and gates, sheds, grading, driveways, roadside work, tree removal, outdoor lighting and similar projects may require one or more permits or reviews.

Requirements vary by property and project, and hiring a contractor does not replace owner verification.
