Common requests

Assessment records and assistance

Use these official Borough, County and State resources for common assessment tasks.

Appeal deadlines are strict: An appeal challenges the property assessment, not the amount of tax billed. A conversation, voicemail or email with the Assessor does not file an appeal or extend a deadline. Review the current County and State instructions before filing, and continue paying taxes as billed while an appeal is pending.

Required New Jersey posting

Property Taxpayer Bill of Rights

New Jersey property taxpayers are entitled to fair and equitable treatment, clear information about assessments and appeal rights, and responses to questions within a reasonable time.

Forms and legal authority

Use the current State forms and instructions for any filing. The Tax Assessor performs the duties assigned by New Jersey law and the Borough Code.

The Assessor determines and maintains assessments. The Assessor does not issue tax bills, collect payments, set municipal budgets or decide a formal tax appeal. Formal Borough records requests go through the Borough Clerk's public records process.
